Amon Grantham grew up in Middleway and was a longtime farmer. Active with Grace Episcopal Church, 4-H, FFA and he also worked as a homebound teacher and administrator. Grantham Family has deep roots in the County, especially around Middleway. Additionally, his mother (Nell Grantham), was one of the first women to run for the Board of Education in Jefferson County when it became a countywide board, rather than by district.
