Janie, Ray, Gracie, and now, Sam

Janie started an impromptu storytime, Ray picked a pirate eyepatch from the library treasure chest, and Gracie embraced her still-strengthening skill of self propulsion as she walked through the aisles of the children’s section.

And Sam, only weeks old, slept in his stroller. As the newest member of the Charles Town Library family, Sam will be under the watchful eye of his three old siblings and the library staff. His baby dreams will soon be filled with the stories read to him by Janie and Miss Clarissa during Storytime.

The library is nearing the century mark of its existence at 200 East Washington Street, but we are kept young by all of the Sams and Averys and Melodys whose families recognized what awaits through the doors of the Library and the Jefferson County Library.

We are appreciative of the trust of the community and will continue to offer ideas, inspiration and learning for all the members of all the families.
