The Old Charles Town Library’s Community Room is available for meetings, workshops, trainings, educational programs, and community events. As a shared civic space, the room supports activities that contribute to learning, engagement, and community well-being.
Who May Use the Room?
The Community Room is available to:
- Community groups
- Nonprofit organizations
- Local businesses
- For-profit organizations
- Civic and educational organizations
Use of the Community Room does not imply endorsement by the Old Charles Town Library or its Board of Trustees.

Visit the Library during regular business hours.
Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to approval.
Rental Rates
Community Groups & Nonprofits
Free
Community groups and nonprofit organizations may use the room at no charge for meetings, workshops, and mission-aligned programs that do not generate revenue.
Businesses & For-Profit Organizations
$40 per hour
For trainings, staff meetings, presentations, and other business or revenue-generating activities.
After-Hours Use
Approved groups may access the room outside normal library hours using the room’s secure exterior entrance.
- $15 after-hours surcharge
- $25 refundable key/security deposit
Payment Information
- Rental fees must be paid in advance unless other arrangements are approved.
- Additional charges may apply for damage, excessive cleaning, or failure to follow room procedures.
- Fee waivers or adjustments may be considered for mission-aligned programs.
Community Room Guidelines
Users are responsible for:
- Leaving the room clean and orderly.
- Following all Library policies and procedures.
- Returning any issued keys on time.
- Complying with all local, state, and federal laws.
The Library reserves the right to deny or cancel reservations that conflict with Library operations, policy requirements, or public safety considerations.
