This year, February 1 is the Lunar New Year, celebrated by billions of people around the globe of Chinese descent.
There are 12 years in the cycle used for the Chinese New Year, each one represented by an animal. 2022 is the Year of the Tiger and the Charles Town Library has a plethora (look it up here at the library) of items, both on our shelves and online about the Chinese New Year. Be sure to check them out and learn more about the world. It is an amazing place.
Also, Brian will be reading several books about the Chinese New Year during his Bedtime Storytime, which is shown live on Wednesday, at 7 p.m. on the Charles Town Library Facebook page.
On hoopla, our free online resource for library card holders, there are many types of books, films, music and more that relate to the new year and the Chinese culture in general. Be sure to check out the offering online, as well as what we have available here at 200 E. Washington Street.
