Charles Town Library taking applications for Part-Time Library Circulation Coordinator



The Library Circulation Coordinator of the Charles Town Library guides the day-to-day operations of the library, including all aspects of library circulation, borrower and information services.  The successful candidate will be reliable, dependable, and flexible; able to work evening and weekend hours; proficient in the use of computers and a variety of software; and provide exemplary customer service to all library users

Under general direction of the Director, the circulation coordinator:

  • plans, organizes, and directs circulation desk services;
  • assists library members in the use of library services, facilities, and equipment;
  • interprets library policies for members;
  • participates in library special projects as assigned by the Director.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Assisting library patrons with locating library materials and using public access computers. Provide patrons with photocopies, scans, etc.

Resolving difficult situations and make sound decisions related to patron complaints; consulting with the director on various issues to ensure timely resolution.

Compiling data and running statistical reports in support of library functions and quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

Assisting with receipt and cataloging of library materials.

Contributing to the efficiency, welcoming, safe atmosphere, and positive patron experience of the Charles Town Library.
