September is Library Card Month – It’s free, it’s easy, it’s cool

September is Library Card Month. The Charles Town Library has set its goal for the month at signing up 1,000 new patrons in September.

Remember, library cards are free, we do not charge fines, we provide a wide array of free online resources – a great thing to remember as school starts, and we have hoopla – a great online service for free movies, audiobooks, ebooks, graphic novels, comics, and music.

Whoa, that is a lot of stuff for free!

So come on down to 200 E. Washington Street for a visit and to sign up for a library card. If Wonder Woman thinks it’s cool, then you know it is!

And be sure to drop by the library on Saturday, September 12, for a special event featuring special gifts for new patrons and many other things.

  1. Hi, I live in Maryland just over the bridge. My husband works in Harpers Ferry, I shop etc in Charles Town. Can I get a free library card?

    • Hi Linda, we do provide library cards to people who live or work in Jefferson County. We do not have a process for online library card applications so your husband would need to come in to complete the application. The Frederick County library system also has a wide selection of online resources although I am not sure if they provide online applications. Thanks for checking in with us.
