The Charles Town Library’s staff will be returning to the library in staggered shifts on Monday, May 11, 2020, to begin readying the library to resume limited services at a date yet to be determined.
Because Jefferson County remains a hot spot, the building will remain closed to the public until the infection curve has flattened for Jefferson County for the prescribed two weeks as recommend by the Centers for Disease Control.
We will reopen our doors only as it is safe to do so for our staff and for our readers based on the status of the pandemic. We will resume curbside book pickup when the curve begins to flatten.
In the meantime, staff will be in the library to answer your calls and any questions you may have. Books may be returned through the book drop where they will be quarantined and sanitized before being reshelved. Please let us know how we may serve you as we prepared to reopen with an abundance of caution.
In the meantime, staff, who will be practicing social distancing and wearing masks, will be doing much needed tasks that cannot easily be done when the building is open to the public.
We appreciate your patience as we ensure the safety of our readers.
