UPDATE – MARCH 23, 2020 – EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
In light of continued precautions in Jefferson County to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the Charles Town Library will be closed to the public until the current health situation changes.
We will continue to watch current developments in the state and region, as well as local organizations, including Jefferson County Public Schools, to determine the appropriate time to reopen our doors to the public.
During this time:
- Our popular Story Time events with Miss Debbie and Mr. Tim will continue live-streamed on Facebook when possible. Please check our website (www.ctlibrary.org) and our Facebook page for updates.
- Remember that we are a fine-free library. There is no penalty for returning items beyond their due date.
You can stay up to date with West Virginia’s status with the virus at https://dhhr.wv.gov/COVID-19/Pages/default.aspx, and at the U.S. Center for Disease Control https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Historically, libraries have been held up as safe places of knowledge and community. The Charles Town Library remains true to this. As this situation progresses, we will offer the services and support in the most appropriate ways possible.
Thank you for your continued patronage and support.
Director, The Old Charles Town Library, Inc.
